credited in the account with the Crown Rent at the rate of

$500 an acre commuted at 25 years purchase, such a credit

being given by the War Department to the Colonial Govern-

ment for lands of which it conveys to that Department the

right of perpetual user. I annex a copy of Sir Henry

Berkeley's opinion on this point in the face of which I am

unable to recommend that this credit should be given.
